June 22, 1999 On a quiet summer afternoon with blue skies and a few puffy white clouds, over fifty years after she was used in active service over the skies of Europe, a WWII B-17 Bomber was seen in the skies over western NJ. In the plane experiencing a rare aviation thrill were David and Christopher. Enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the two aviators spent an enjoyable time learning the plane’s handling characteristics and performance capabilites. With pilot log book entries to memorialize the actual flight time spent in the air, the thrill of this event will not be forgotten. |
